NATO countries are increasingly united, while Russia is strengthening alliances with non-Western countries, such as China and Iran. In the economic sector, the impact of the Russo-Ukrainian War is clearly visible in global energy prices. Russia, as one of the largest oil and gas producers, plays an important role in the world’s energy supply. When Western countries imposed sanctions, energy prices soared, creating inflation that hurt many countries, especially those dependent on Russian energy. It also accelerates the transition towards renewable energy, with countries looking for alternatives to fossil energy. From a social perspective, the war sparked a major refugee crisis, with millions of Ukrainians fleeing their country. This creates challenges for European countries in handling refugees, which has an impact on social and economic policies. Different responses in dealing with refugees also create social tensions in receiving countries. This war also affects global food security. Ukraine is known as the “bread of the world” because of its role in producing wheat and other grains. The conflict disrupted supply chains, causing spikes in food prices and fears of a food crisis. Countries dependent on wheat imports from Ukraine face great risks, exacerbating the famine situation in some regions. From a military perspective, this war showed an increase in the development of military technology and more sophisticated defense strategies. NATO and its allies are investing more in their defense capabilities, and the development of new weapons is accelerating. This creates ongoing tensions that could undermine regional stability.
