Little League Community Heroes

Community hero is a person who goes above and beyond to make an impact on their community. This could be a police officer or fireman that drives the truck in your Little League Opening Ceremonies, or it can be the dedicated teacher that works in your concession stand each summer. These are the individuals who help to inspire Little Leaguers(r) and bring their communities together. KDKA is proud to honor their dedication and hard work with our Community Heroes initiative, presented by UPMC.

Across the country and around the globe, people are making a difference through their work and commitment to their communities. Whether they’re saving lives, providing food to the hungry, or helping the less fortunate in their neighborhood, these are the people we call heroes. Their efforts are a testament to the greatness of the human spirit and show how we all have the ability to rise above our circumstances.

Community of Purpose teamed up with the New York Islanders to highlight local heroes. Each month, a first responder supported by ACNB Bank will be recognized during a game at the BB&T Center. To nominate a local hero, fill out the form on this page. Then, if your nominee is selected for an appearance with the New York Islanders, they’ll receive four tickets to the game and special in-game recognition from the players!
